UConn Cornerback Died After Stabbing

University of Connecticut starting cornerback Jasper Howard, 20, died after being stabbed during an on-campus dance. The fight occurred several hours after UConn won their homecoming game against Louisville. Howard was able to force a fumble during the third quarter, preventing Louisville from scoring.

Around 12:30a.m., a fight broke out after a fire alarm was pulled, and Howard and a fellow teammate were stabbed. One of Howard’s teammates performed CPR on him, and looked after the other victim, who is in critical condition.

Howard was a junior from Miami, and was the first person in his family to go to college. He was also an expectant father.
