Ray Lewis Fined for Hitting Ochocinco

Baltimore Raven’s linebacker Ray Lewis received a $25,000 fine for unnecessary roughness during a Cincinnati Bengals game on October 11th. Lewis ran helmet first into Chad Ochocinco, driving him into the ground, and the force knocked off his helmet. After a 15-yard penalty, the Bengals were able to score the winning touchdown, putting them ahead of the Ravens 17-14.

Ochocinco asked NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to rescind his decision and not require Lewis pay the fine. He issued a statement on his Twitter, saying that he was not injured and didn’t think it was necessary for Lewis to lose money over it.
However, according to the Baltimore Sun, Lewis received the fine totaling almost half of his weekly salary. I don’t know about you, but I think there are better ways to spend $25,000.

You can watch the big hit here.
