O's Avoid 100 Losses

After beating the Toronto Blue Jays 6-3 at home, the O’s are able to avoid an embarrassing 100 losses for the season. This win give the O’s their first 3-consecutive wins since July. The team hasn’t seen over 100 losses since 1988, when they finished the season 54-107. Prior to that, the O’s lost over 100 games in 1954, which was their first season in Baltimore.

Pitcher Mark Hendrickson only allowed 3 runs in a little over 6 innings that he pitched. Randy Ruiz and Rod Barajas scored 2 runs for Toronto in the second inning, bringing the score to 2-0. Lou Montanez scored the O’s first run in the bottom of the second, and 3 more runs were scored in the 4th inning, by Nick Markakis, Ty Wigginton and Jeff Fiorentino, bringing the score to 5-2. G Rodriguez scored the O’s 6th run in the 6th inning, and the Jays scored their 3rd run in the 7th inning.
