The O’s announced Friday that Dave Trembly will return in 2010 for his 3rd season as manager. This decision was made by Andy MacPhail, who decided that the O’s poor record was not just Trembly’s fault, especially when you factor in the numerous injuries that took place at the end of the season.
Even though Trembly’s record is 170-244 over the past 2 seasons, MacPhail sees potential in him as a manager. This is partially due to the growth and maturation of young players, such as Nolan Reimold and Matt Wieters. Trembly managed Minor League teams for 20 seasons before he started at the O’s.
