Alex Ovechkin Faces Two Game Suspension

Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals, has received a lot of negative attention lately. People think that he plays too recklessly, and has been injured several times a result. Last night, Ovechkin had a knee-to-knee hit against Carolina’s Tim Gleason, which has resulted in a two game suspension.

Ovechkin is one of the top players in the NHL, and has been on the NHL First All-Star Team for the past four years. His suspension comes as a shock to some people, who feel the punishment is uncalled for. Others think it’s not strict enough.

Ovechkin had just returned to the game after an upper body strain kept him out for several weeks, and the injury received last night could hinder his performance.
